Після початку повномасштабного російського вторгнення, Україна закликала іноземців приєднатися до нашої боротьби за мир і демократію в Європі та у всьому світі.

Можливість іноземцям проходити військову службу в нашій країні законодавчо врегулювали ще у 2016 році. З того часу багато з них брали активну участь у проведенні АТО/ООС на Донбасі. Наприкінці лютого президент Володимир Зеленський заявив про створення окремого Інтернаціонального легіону територіальної оборони України (International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine).

Відповідаємо на основні запитання щодо вступу до Інтернаціонального легіону: 

Вступити до лав легіону може будь-який іноземець (крім громадян рф), який виявив відповідне бажання. 

Для цього необхідно виконати такі кроки:

  • зробити скан-копію паспорта
  • зробити скан-копію документів на підтвердження військового чи іншого релевантного досвіду
  • заповнити форму на сайті Інтернаціонального легіону за посиланням https://ildu.mil.gov.ua/#apply
  • завантажити архів, сформований на сайті з ваших документів
  • надіслати архів на пошту int_legion_ua@post.mil.gov.ua.

Після цього ви отримаєте інструкцію щодо подорожі Україною, список необхідних документів та обладнання (форма, бронежилет, каска та інше військове спорядження). Оформлювати візу не потрібно, оскільки візові вимоги для майбутніх представників Інтернаціонального легіону скасовані указом Президента України.

Після прибуття в Україну на міжнародний пункт збору, необхідно підписати контракт та вступити до лав Інтернаціонального легіону.

Що отримають іноземці після участі у воєнних діях?

Контракт для іноземців передбачає ті ж самі умови проходження служби, що і для ЗСУ, включно з грошовим/речовим забезпеченням та доплатами, введеними від початку запровадження воєнного стану. Це передбачає отримання житла, безкоштовну медичну допомогу в профільних медичних закладах, право на безкоштовну вищу освіту тощо.

Крім цього, такі іноземці зможуть отримати українське громадянство за спрощеною процедурою.

After full-scale russian invasion was committed on 24 February 2022, Ukraine has called foreigners to join our army for mutual fighting for the peaceful future and democracy in the whole world.  

Indeed all the interested people have had the possibility to join our national armed forces for 6 years now. Since 2016 they participated in the armed conflict in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. At the end of February this year the Ukrainian president announced the launch of the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine or the Ukrainian Foreign Legion.

What are the key points everyone has to know about participation in the Legion?

The interested volunteers can have citizenship of any state except the russian federation.

1.First of all, such person should contact the Ukrainian embassy in his/her place of residency. There are three ways to apply:

  • come to the Embassy physically;
  • call by phone;
  • apply by email.

2.The volunteer should have the next things:

Documents: id-card; passport to travel abroad; documents confirming the record of military service (service in law enforcement agencies) and participation in the combat; other documents as requested by the Defense attache or Consul.

3.After the preparation steps were passed successfully, in the Ukrainian embassy there will be an interview with the Defense Attache and visa arrangements with the Consul.

4.After the interview the volunteer should submit an application to enlist for voluntary contract-based military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (with assistance from the Defense Attache).

5.The Embassy staff will provide the instructions on how to travel to Ukraine, the necessary documents and equipment.

It is recommended for volunteers, if available, to bring their own military kit, such as clothing or its elements, equipment, helmet, body armor, etc.

6.Representatives of Ukrainian Embassies, Consulates (abroad) and territorial defense in Ukraine will provide assistance to volunteers on the way. 

7.Upon arrival to the collection point in Ukraine, the volunteers will join the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine, sign the contract, and engage the russian occupiers together with fighters from all over the world and Ukrainian soldiers.

What will foreigner volunteers receive after participating in the international armed conflict?

The contract for foreigners provides almost the same financial protection as for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including salary and other profits provided for all the soldiers since the beginning of hostilities. This includes housing, free medical care in specialized medical institutions, the right to free higher education and more.

In addition, such foreigners will be able to obtain Ukrainian citizenship under a simplified procedure.
